I am a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist, a Mindfulness Teacher & Coach, specialising in insomnia and anxiety (including panic, social anxiety, phobias, performance anxiety, assertiveness & confidence), both issues I've personally experienced in the past.
The best part of my work is teaching clients skills & tools to take away and use in the future - giving practical ways to be their own therapist.
Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy (CBH) is an evidence-based approach (i.e. mainstream, peer-reviewed evidence).
It's built upon the large body of research backing cognitive behavioural therapies (CBT), mindfulness and hypnosis as psychotherapies that work.
CBH is a short-term form of therapy unlike long-term talking therapy, such as counselling. We would work together for weeks (not years) towards a defined goal.
Together, we would look at the beliefs, feelings and thoughts causing your problem and replace these with helpful ones so that you can achieve your goal.
We would also work on giving you skills and knowledge to take away and use in the future. So it's very much about empowering you with coping skills.
For your part, you will bring the motivation to change. And to bring about change as quickly as possible, you will be willing to do helpful work between sessions.
For example, hypnosis recordings to listen to, keeping a diary or carrying out small tasks in real-life to build helpful skills and confidence.
